Hamas films Israeli hostages in Gaza as besieged hospitals now 'out of control'
My colleague Andy Lines reports how Hamas has released a video of three hostages pleading to be released and begging Benjamin Netanyahu to 'do more' to save them.
A video of three distraught women hostages has been released by Hamas – with one of them begging to be freed ‘now’.
The distressing film showed one woman pleading with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ‘do more’ to bring them home. In statement, Mr Netanyahu hit back describing the video of the hostages, thought to be in Gaza, as ‘cruel psychological propaganda’. He said: “Our hearts go out to you and the other hostages. We are doing everything to bring all the hostages and missing people home.”
The video came as more than 10 hospitals inside Gaza were ordered to evacuate with the Red Cross saying Al Quds hospital was now in such a chaotic state it was ‘out of control’. It was also revealed last night that an Israeli woman soldier was dramatically rescued from inside Gaza after she was kidnapped and held since October 7. There were reports Israeli tanks were now inside the Strip and on the edge of Gaza City.
The world was shocked by the new hostage video. In the film the three women can be seen sitting next to each other and while only one of them talks to the camera, the other two are by her side for the duration of the clip.
The woman, who appears distressed, addresses Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and says: “Hello, Bibi Netanyahu. We have been in Hamas captivity for 23 days. Yesterday, there was a press conference with the families of the hostages. We know that there was supposed to be a ceasefire. You were supposed to release all of us. You made a commitment to release all of us.”
