As Israeli tanks and infantry advance deeper into Rafah, the end of the near eight month-long war is still at least many months away.
Nobody can say when it will end and exactly how but Prime Minister Netanyahu knows a cessation of the conflict will, however, will in some way be just the beginning.
Fighting in Gaza still rages, with Hamas rockets fired at Tel Aviv just days ago, prompting a devastating response, killing dozens in strikes.
Nevertheless, every day brings demands to know Netanyahu’s plans for a post-war Gaza and how it should be governed.
So far his declared policy regarding the Strip has been merely the eradication militarily and politically of Hamas.
Given that almost none of the people who actually control and fund Hamas are even in Gaza, that is an extremely unlikely outcome.
