Syria's Assad has been toppled, but fears over Islamic State have come roaring back.

Days of Israeli bombing runs have obliterated some 80% of toppled dictator Bashar al-Assad’s military, preventing it from falling into the hands of jihadi groups.
Despite the main rebel group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’s pledges of moderation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu just was not willing to take the chance.
He has even warned that Israeli troops hurriedly deployed into a Syrian buffer zone will remain there indefinitely, further raising tension in the region.
The group HTS has within it many jihadists who have fought with al-Qaeda and even ISIS, but for now it has rebranded in the hope of the new Syria being accepted globally.
But out of the ashes of the swift ousting of the appalling Assad regime, there are rising fears that Islamic State will reappear once again to threaten the Middle East and the West.
And here’s why we should be concerned about the latest developments in Syria, if HTS is unable to hold back a resurgence of the worst terror group we have seen.
