This week the horrific and shocking attacks on Israel are dominating the news agenda.

When news such as this is breaking, we concentrate on casualties, what happened on the ground and what may be happening behind the scenes.

But such seismic, chaotic events often cloak the bigger picture.

Much has been said about the likelihood of Iran’s involvement in the preparation, training and logistical support for the attack. I believe this is irrefutable.

Clearly it will have taken months to plan such a complicated air, sea and land assault, given the much vaunted but now questionable sophistication of Israel’s security arrangements.

Tehran has pretty much already bragged that its Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps were involved in the preparation.

But could Russia too have been involved? I think probably more so.
