Ukraine's boost while Russia and U.S. tussle over territory
Ukraine has finally signed a hard-won agreement with the United States.

Ukraine is breathing a collective sigh of relief after a hard-won agreement was signed with the US to secure direct sales of further millions of pounds worth of military aid.
It comes many weeks after the Donald Trump administration paused Ukraine military aid and insisted Kyiv had to start paying and focus on prioritising an end to the conflict.
For now, people in Kyiv are pleased with the deal as Congress had already approved some $1 billion worth of arms sales to Ukraine to help its war effort.
Part of this money had been approved by the previous Joe Biden administration to free up badly-needed weaponry such as .50 calibre weapons to defend against Russia.
This was in the form of direct commercial sales - or DCS - which are a somewhat opaque way in which America is able to supply weapons to a foreign country such as Ukraine.
But basically arms will continue to be pumped into Ukraine to sustain its troops, even though President Volodymyr Zelensky is desperately keen to obtain more Patriot missile systems.
