In a surprising twist of irony this week it has emerged that Ukraine may soon be getting a boost in weaponry - most of which originated in Russia.
This would be a huge help to Kyiv’s war effort and not a moment too soon because frontline troops are being out-gunned by Moscow’s forces.
Often in artillery exchanges Ukraine’s forces are said to have been able to return fire with one missile to Russia’s six, giving Moscow the edge.
Now, we hear, Israel may hand over a huge collection of confiscated Hezbollah weaponry to Ukraine to help its war against Russia.
It means many of bungling Russia’s weapons that it gave to Hezbollah in Syria, whilst helping ousted former leader Bashar al-Asssad, could now be used against it.
The massive and deadly cache was taken in Lebanon and supplied to Hezbollah by Russia and Iran, both of whom are now fairly overt allies of Moscow.
